rain your your wedding day . . .

So, I have heard it said, that rain on your wedding day is good luck.  not many brides buy it.  Rain just causes trouble – mud, dirty dress, flat hair, etc – TROUBLE.    Montana Wedding PhotographyIn my “little” bit of research, though, I did discover that there are still many people whom do believe that rain is infact good luck!  ( Just as long as it is gone by the ceremony.)   Rain, for centuries, has been a symbol of fertility to agricultural societies, because rain restored and maintained the wellness of crops. Crops were peoples main source of stability and income, so it was thought to guarantee a long happy marriage!

So, congratulations to Rachel and Andy on your beautiful wedding day – a day filled with lots of rain (but none during the ceremony), lots of friends, great food, and of course, love!  May your marriage be blessed and  . . . because of the rain . . .fertile.  :)

i love to laugh

I have been thinking lately that I miss laughing.  There are times when I seem to let life get the best of me – when I let work, people, my own expectations, etc., stress me out.  I stop laughing.

This is probably why I love shooting weddings sooo much!

Every Saturday, I get to forget.  I get to forget about reality for a moment and fall into another happy love story.

Well, today, is no exception.

Last night, as I watched the wedding party practice the walk down the aisle, and watch the groom high-five every  person he came in contact with, I found my self laughing.  I watched this couple laugh and play and have fun joking around with each other, and I thought to myself, ”it has been awhile . . . “

Seeing them together, brought me back to the moment I first met these two.

This couple lives in Washington, so working out the perfect time to shoot engagement pictures was a bit difficult. schedules, work, the weather – they were all factors in our get together.  When we finally met, it was raining . . . and cold . . . and raining.

These two were fabulous, though!  It didn’t phase them at all.  The rain didn’t stand a chance at ruining their time together.

fall-out-of-a-pony-tail-perfect-hair . . .

Oh, how I would love beautiful hair!  Soft hair, bouncy hair, fall-out-of-a-pony-tail-perfect hair!  Hair you want to run your hands through.  Hair you want to brush.  Hair that bounces when you walk.

So sad that I am now sharing such intimate details about myself – I want beautiful hair.

Hair like Karson Suttons.

I met this girl a couple weeks ago, and the minute she got out of the car, I said to myself – “look at her hair!”  It was fabulous!

Every picture we took, every which way she pulled it, it looked beautiful.

Okay.  Okay.  I think I am getting carried away!
