. . . chaos and contentment . . .

Who was that character on Charlie Brown whom always seemed to have a swirl of dust circling around him?  Pig-Pen?

I feel like him today.  This morning, I am Pig-Pen.

As many of you know, we have made a huge move – small town Montana to big city, Scottsdale – HUGE.  I still have quite a few wedding contracts in Montana, though so I have been doing a lot of traveling.  (I am actually really really enjoying it, but I am looking forward to the day when the intensity of this season begins to wind down.)

It really is amazing how just a couple of bumps in the road causes so much chaos . . . . We were supposed to fly to Helena, MT yesterday to get to our last “summer” wedding in Billings this weekend.  Our flight was delayed . . . and then we were put on a new flight . . . then our new flight had some problems, and we were sent to a new airline . . . I slept in my clothes last night . . . .I need a shower  . . . my toothbrush is in my checked luggage . . . our new flight is now reporting a late arrival of our aircraft.  I am highly optimistic that we will indeed make it to Montana in time for Jeff and Alexis to say “I Do,” but this morning, I feel like Pig-Pen.

If I remember correctly, that character cannot seem to rid himself of the dust for more than just brief moments.  He just CANNOT stay clean.  I just CANNOT seem to step out of this chaos that seems to surround me.

Which is why I am so very, very, VERY excited for this weekend.

I am really looking forward to being in the presence of Jeff and Alexis.

There is something incredibly unique and special about these two.  When we met for their engagement pictures last year, it was so calming to watch the two of them together.  There was a contentment in their love for one another that was quite inviting to be a part of.

Something special and timeless . . . their relationship – intimate and beautiful – was evident in the words they spoke to one another, the way they touched each other; even at times when they were looking at the camera and smiling, I was sucked into the closeness of their friendship.

Needless to say, I am looking forward to a weekend of happiness, quiet whispers, and love given freely!!!!
